AceInfographics Update – Seems To Be Working A Treat
So, back in August I set up this website right. Check out the old post too if you haven’t read it already because I’m following up here… this post will be half useless without reading the first. Or, for your convenience because I’m awesome and love to be convenient, here’s the lowdown…
- Researched into infographics
- Saw I could probably make some money with minimal effort
- Registered a domain, gave it a try
Below are my findings so far… enjoy!
Testing The Theory
“If I can get just 5 submissions a week at £1, why couldn’t I get the same when I’m charging £10, the website has increased domain authority and is actually worth getting a link from? At which point I’d be making a healthy £200 a month for little to no work. Anyway, that’s the theory; I guess we’ll see how it goes…”
So I’ve failed at getting 5 submissions a week at £1… and I haven’t upped the price to £10 – lol.
However, what I have managed to achieve is more than 5 submissions a week; of which about 1-3 of them actually make a payment. And I’ve done this with even less effort than 10 minutes a day; the amount of time I previously mentioned. For when no payment is received I’ve set up an e-mail responder to make sure the submitter knows that in order to be automatically approved they have to pay the inclusive fee. Only 10% of these follow-up e-mails actually result in a sale though – bit annoying.
Getting To This Point
So after buying the domain name here’s what I did…
- Installed WordPress.
- Found a theme, which I now realise is not the best theme for this project in the slightest. Note: find a new theme.
- Bookmarked a bunch of the best infographic sites.
- Began posting infographics to get it kick-started.
- Spent 20 minutes posting my site to infographic lists on blogs and forums.
- I repeated step 4 maybe 5-6 times since August and November.
That’s it.
What Now?
This is the best part. AceInfographics.com now has PageRank 1 and a ‘reasonable’ enough Domain Authority to warrant SEOs posting the infographic here for a mere £5; the price I’ve now raised the submissions to. That mere £5 at even just twice a week will now be making me some pocket cash of £40 a month… not too shabby for something I’ve put no effort into.
Let’s see if I can turn it up a notch, crank that PageRank up a bit, improve the site slightly and put another 0 on the end of those earnings. With some link building and clever movements; there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work…

I’d suggest allowing free submissions for a brief period of time (signing up to blogger link-up and getting that blasted for free) and then once you’ve got some loyal custom. BAM.
Thanks for the advice Sebastian. Well, basically you can submit for free and not pay – but it doesn’t guarantee inclusion.
I might give your thought a test though if the new £5 structure doesn’t work out as planned. Thanks!
